Who we share data with
Summary of key points
- We don't sell your data, and we don't share it with advertisers or data brokers.
- The service providers below handle it so Ashley can work. Each one gets only what its job needs.
- Your audio goes only to our speech-to-text provider, Soniox. Our AI providers get text, never audio.
- We hand data to anyone else only when a court order or a law makes us (privacy policy, section 3).
Our server is in the United States (Google Cloud, Oregon).
What each provider receives
| Provider | What it receives, and when | What it keeps |
|---|---|---|
| Soniox | Your audio while listening is on, and voice notes you send as feedback. With it, the words you've taught Ashley, so names and terms are spelled right | Live audio is streamed and not stored. Audio sent as a file is deleted from Soniox, with its job, as soon as the transcript is back. It doesn't train on your data |
| DeepInfra (DeepSeek V3.2 model) and Anthropic (Claude model), through OpenRouter | Text only: transcripts, cards, your questions to Ashley, your profile and focus items, and feedback, so the AI models can organize your conversations into cards and answer your questions. OpenRouter only routes the request. DeepSeek, the company, receives nothing, and the model does not run in China | Data collection is denied and none of them trains models on your data. DeepInfra keeps nothing (zero data retention). Anthropic deletes what we send within 30 days, except content its automated safety systems flag, which can be kept for up to 2 years |
| Google Cloud | Everything stored on our server: your encrypted transcripts, cards, voiceprints, people, profile, feedback and account data | Stored encrypted until you delete it or your account |
| Cloudflare | The connection between your devices and our server; your encrypted audio archive and encrypted backups; this website; and, if you join the waitlist, your email and the link that brought you | Audio stored encrypted until you delete it or your account; backups are replaced within 14 days. Storage region chosen automatically by Cloudflare |
| Apple | Sign in with Apple, App Store purchases, TestFlight for the beta, and the location of a card when it's turned into a place name | Under Apple's own privacy policy |
| Stripe | Your payment, if you subscribe on our website. We never see your card number | Under Stripe's own privacy policy |
| Microsoft 365 | Emails you send us, including any Report a problem file you choose to send, and the daily feedback summary we send ourselves | Kept in our mailbox as long as we need it to help you |
Apple and Stripe also handle some information under their own privacy policies. All the other providers above act only for us. The privacy policy, section 3, explains what that means.
AI assistants you connect yourself
If you connect your own AI assistant with "Connect your AI", that assistant can read your cards, transcripts, place names and the names of people you've named, under its own provider's terms. That's your choice, and it isn't one of our providers. Access is read-only, every read is logged, and you can disconnect it in the app at any time. Disconnecting stops future reads; what the assistant has already read is handled under its provider's terms.
What we never do
- Sell your data, or share it for advertising.
- Use it to train AI models, or let our providers train on it. When we improve how Ashley answers, we change our own instructions to the model; we don't train any model.
- Use the voiceprints of people around you to identify them outside your account.
- Add a new provider without updating this page and telling you first.
